The team is located in Northwood in the UK and in Helmand at Camp Bastion and the Task Force Headquarters and works to support the coalition forces together with the other government departments such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development. Five News is in Afghanistan bringing you special reports from behind the frontline, giving you an idea of what life is like there.
When British Troops first arrived in Afghanistan almost 8 years ago their aim was to bring security and stability to the country's people.
Since the Taliban was toppled, life for many Afghans has changed dramatically.
Five's Matt Barbet has spent time with the people who risk their lives to help others and to see just what life is like for everyone living there.
