VIDEO: A lasting legacy from the Herriot of Helmand

  1. Great work, and I'm sure it's a great way of connecting with the Afghans in a constructive manner.

My concern with much of America's effort, and I don't know if the problem is common to the UK's effort, is that too much of our aid is channeled via American corporations, and money either stays in the US, or goes to Americans overseas; I have read that oftentimes, very little of it reaches the Afghans we are trying to help.

As much as is being risked by so many to help Afghanistan, it is nice to see a program like this that I'm sure gets good results, both in lives saved among the animals, but far beyond that, in lives saved among friendly troops and the civilians as the rapport between security forces and the Afghan people improves.

    Great post!
